Film Pit
Thursday 22 October / 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm / Stiwdio, Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff
Project Outline
This Film Pit explores whether anyone can now make and show a film. As with all traditional medium, digital technology has brought about significant changes, for instance to traditional production hierarchies, single narratives to interactive and participatory, and the power held by distribution giants to self and mass distribution. This Film Pit explores the current impact on film making and will begin with brief spotlights from the panel on their particular specialism: film-makers, artists, producers and film agencies. This will then be followed by a journey in to the near future with the audience to discuss how film making - from production to presentation - might look like.
